Day 28 - buyable items!
Hi, I’m back again.
Today I worked on buyable items—things that travellers can purchase directly from the shop.
There are still some adjustments to be made in the current trade UI,
but the main idea is: travellers pick up items, walk to the counter, and that triggers the trade UI.
(The player will need to click some sort of scroll to start the deal.)
Items are visibly carried and placed on the counter, which makes the interaction more engaging and satisfying.
To make the game less overwhelming, I’m also working on a progressive introduction to the game systems.
The first phase will focus on:
- trading items
- displaying goods
- giving out coins
Later phases will introduce:
- food, beds, and other services that add more depth
I also refined the trade UI a bit more today. Hopefully, I can share it in this week’s recap video.
That said, making a recap video every week is starting to feel unsustainable.
I’m considering switching to recap posts with images, and maybe doing a demo gameplay video every month instead.
If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!
