More realistic interaction!

Day 36

Hi,

Today (although I’m writing this really late—just wanted to record the streak), I worked on making interactions with travellers feel a bit more realistic.

I looked into some successful games, and I noticed that their interactions with NPCs are often enhanced by giving players simple options to choose from.

So, I created an option panel where the player can choose how to interact. Some examples:

  1. “Do you want to buy?”
  2. “Do you want to sell?”
  3. “Do you know anything?”
  4. “Do you need anything?”
  5. “Quests”

Of course, I’m not going to show all of these at once. Different types of travellers will activate different options automatically—so the player just clicks and feels the difference without being overwhelmed.

I don’t want to complicate things too much, so for the demo I might stick to just:
“Do you want to buy?”

Thanks for reading, and I’ll come back for the next blog post!
